The masmap community communicates via different medium that caters to different sets of mappers with different personalities. Public discussions are mainly done through the forum while private group discussion through a closed mailing list. The content management system communicates what has been formally decided as standard amongst the mappers.
Live chats are conducted over Skype and Gtalk, the former having the advantage of being able to share your screen with a senior mapper so he may personally guide you in the art of map-making.
