Drawing Areas

Areas or Polygons are a string of coordinates which joins back to the first node at the end creating a closed loop.  These are for buildings, lakes and rivers.

Drawing areas for buildings, lakes and rivers requires you to have Google Earth underlay as reference. But since this is a beginners section, it would suffice if you were to only draw areas for a playground as the roads surrounding it would act as reference.

As with drawing point and polylines, you should be at a Scale of between 20 to 30 meters and and Zoom Level 0 (zero) to draw a polygon.

Click on the Create Objects tool and choose Polygon. Then begin drawing at the first corner of the playground 1 and continue to the 2nd, 3rd and finally 4th corner before hitting Enter on your keyboard to finish the area polygon. Choose Green Compound as the Polygon Type and finally enter the label name, if any.
