Mapping Cycle

The Mapping Cycle consists of a 5 step process:

1. SVN Update
Always update your trunk folder before you begin mapping to ensure you have the latest source map files.

2. SVN Get Lock
Locking the map file you wish to map on ensures no other mapper will change the same file at the same time. You will be provided with an SVN username and password to enable you to lock. Once locked, the file will have a green check-mark icon or a yellow padlock icon.

3. Edit map
Once the file has been safely locked, you may begin editing the map.

4. Save map
Saving the map will result in the map file having a red exclamation mark icon overlay. This tells you that the map file on your computer, is now different from that on the server.

5. SVN Commit
Committing sends only your edits to the server so other mappers can see what you’ve added to the map. Once you have committed your edits to the server, the red exclamation mark icon is replaced by a gray check-mark icon.
